Tennyson Kainz-Potter as Peter Pan
What got you interested in drama?
I first became fond of theatre when I was
in grade 5, where I was cast in my first big theatrical role. The junior school
play at that time was called “RATS”. It was a comedic spin-off of the story of
the Pied Piper, I felt so comfortable being on stage and acting as a different
character. After the performance, I asked my dad if I could take drama classes
outside of school. From then on, I knew it was a passion of mine.

I have many favorite movies, but the most
recent film I have enjoyed watching was Warm
Bodies.

capture more serious roles. When he acts, he uses all aspects of acting (body
language, reactions, facial expressions), bringing his character to life.
What is your favorite part of being involved in

With a play like Peter Pan and Wendy, energy is a good

always movement on stage.

apart of would be a Dream Within a Dream.

was a challenge to have to portray a character that was dark and mysterious.

play was a musical and I had so much fun singing with cast and enjoying the era
in which it was set.
What is the most challenging aspect
about being in a play?
I
find that being patient is one of the hard parts. They are times when you are

learned new things about character and how to get to know the character I am
playing. As for learning new things about myself I have become more comfortable

now I can talk to them and get to know them. It has truly been a great
experience.

something like that and it was a great learning opportunity. I learned how to
use my voice, different ways to express myself and learn new acting skills.
What is the most challenging aspect
about being in a play?
The
most changeling aspects have to be the amount of time we put into the play. I
live further away then others so it is a harder to get to. The amount of hours
is also a lot and can be trying. Memorizing on top of it all is also a hassle.
I did sign up for it though and I am not complaining. I truly love doing this.
What do you hope people will take away
from the performance?
I
want them to believe the character I am playing and make them feel as though they
are in the story with us. I want them to feel the curiosity and excitement

production. I hope they walk away satisfied.

at you as an actor, but at your character when you’re doing crazy things.
What do you hope people will take away
from the performance?
The puppets are new this year, and I think it’s an amazing way of adding that
special magic to a performance. I hope the audience can experience that magic

The hardest part would be balancing schoolwork and other activities with the
busy rehearsal schedule.
What do you hope people will take away

will look like when it all comes together, but then when you see it all
finished it just amazing!
How long have you been creating
clothing? And are you excited for your designs to be in the play?
This

What is your favorite part of being

What is your favorite play that you have been apart of?
I was a part of Orpheus’ production of “Annie” a couple of years ago, and it was such a fun, wonderful experience. It was the first big show I was in, and I loved being able to get to know others my age and also older than me who loved theatre. I love the time period in which “Annie” is set, and the characters are all so unique. It was also really fun to be a part of a production which had songs and dances in it.
